Dr Keith Rutherford, R&D Vice President, Unilever

Thank you Jeremy for your time, effort and enthusiasm. Having you share your story along with tips and advice was really fantastic, it was the perfect way to end the event. Your character and personality made it so engaging, and I’m quite sure it will be remembered in the Alliance. Thanks again, and I have my millionaire peg in pride of place on my desk!

We were lucky to have Jeremy talk to our staff as part of an awareness week around Men’s mental health. Jeremy took us on an emotional roller coaster and used humour to talk through his own honest, frank and informative experiences of mental ill health. Jeremy’s advice on how to stay healthy was well received and brought hope for the recovery and management of mental illness. I highly recommend his talks.

Francoise Woolley, ACAS, Head of Mental Health and Well Being May 2021

The presentation we had with Jeremy covering mental wellbeing was excellent. Jeremy is knowledgeable, humorous and most importantly very sensitive to what can be a very difficult subject for some.

The feedback from our employees has been fantastic, with so many saying the coping strategies recommended by Jeremy have helped them a great deal. I very much look forward to welcoming Jeremy back for further sessions.

Jo O’Donnell, HR Manager – UK North East – HTL Group UK April 2021

Jeremy Thomas is an outstandingly good speaker. Jeremy’s talks are practical, authentic, and entertaining. He manages to get into the nitty gritty of mental health and to demonstrate many ways in which we can all practice how to stay well – prevention is better than cure. He is sincere without ever being pious and fun without ever being flippant. I know his talks have helped quite a few people inside and outside my organisation and would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

Audrey Hoare, Partner C.Hoare & Co.

Jeremy spoke at our Safety Stand Down event and, although his background is completely different from our industry, he really hit it off with our teams using his ready wit and humour to highlight the issues surrounding the often difficult topic of mental health and his own traumatic journey. He is a natural performer putting his audience at ease encouraging a number of individuals to speak with him after the presentation. We would not hesitate to book Jeremy for future events.

Bam Nuttall, Graham Gregson BEng(Hons) MICE, Civil Safety Manager and Richard Atkins, Project Lead Surveys

“Well done to CGI for scheduling. The speaker was open and informative. And he spoke from his own experience.”

“The mix of real story and tips for mental health made for a captivating presentation.”

“Fabulous session – hearing such candid thoughts from someone who’s gone through this feels like I’ve been “given permission” to reach out and speak to  someone about it if needed (rather than being typically British and reserved).”

“Jeremy was excellent, definitely a ‘make a difference’ speaker”

Directors UK is the organisation that represents all directors working with moving images in the UK. In the last few years we have begun to understand some of the pressures and issues facing out membership. From the most successful to newbies, directors take on great responsibility and are often under very real pressure. Directors UK decided to see what we could do to help. Inviting Jeremy to talk was our first step and he was, without any doubt, very successful. His mix of intense honesty, humour and knowledge makes his talk both accessible and important. The questions in the room and subsequent feedback made it clear he got through. Jeremy has first hand experience of what happens when things go badly wrong. He tells a story that helps others recognise the early symptoms and work out how to stay sane. Which is no small order.

Paul Unwin – Board Member, Directors UK

I was utterly drawn in to Jeremy’s refreshingly open talk about his own experiences of good and bad mental health. Far too many of us have been conditioned to only seeing this subject as taboo or something that needs to be hidden. Jeremy engages his audience, his delivery of story-telling generating many a heart-warming laugh-out-loud moment, the light humour carefully balancing the seriousness of the darker shade of being mentally unwell. His appeal will be across the board. A boss struggling to understand their role, when to get involved, when to get others involved, and to the remaining community, Jeremy will show them that it is not to be feared, it is okay and will be okay. The most compelling thing of all is that he is a living testament to all this.

Stacey Lambert, Vice President Human Resources, Pearson PLC

“This was a fantastic session – thank you for organising.”

“Thank you for putting on such an interesting talk by Jeremy Thomas. Looking on the condition with humour both humanises and demystifies it in equal measure. I very much enjoyed hearing him talk about the subject.”

“What a brilliant speaker – one of the most engaging talks I have attended in a while. Thank you.”

Attendees Keynote Talk March 2021, C.Hoare & Co. Employees

Thanks so much again. 100% of the people who fed back rated the talk 5/5 stars, and we had an individual who said the talk itself was the number one highlight of the day.  I thought it was important to highlight to you that it did have a positive impact. Some people who weren’t able to attend that talk had fed back that they heard from others that it was amazing too. Word got out beyond just those who were in the room, which is great.

Working with Jeremy on raising mental health issues was, and continues to be, an outstanding experience. His story coupled with his practical guidance is a must for those who wish to personalise the importance of mental health with their workforce. Not only did Jeremy deliver his session in person but he was able to do so virtually without losing any impact. Thank you Jeremy and I look forward to working with you in the future.

Canopius is proud to have a thriving Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) function within our business, which among other things, offers our employees around the world regular access to mental health resources, guides and expert insight. Our MHFA team invited Jeremy Thomas to share his ‘How to stay sane in an insane world’ presentation via a lunchtime webinar, and he gave us some practical solutions to manage mental health issues in our daily lives. The feedback from employees has been fantastic. Jeremy presents with an incredibly engaging and humorous style, on such a sensitive topic. This is the second time we have booked Jeremy and would not hesitate to recommend him, or book him again.

Samantha Leigh, PA to Group Head of PR, Canopius

Jeremy Thomas’ life adventures tell an inspirational story of survival which provides the backdrop to some timely advice and pointers towards better mental health. His talk to barristers and staff members was very-well received. We can all learn from it; not only for ourselves, but also to recognise the warning signs in others. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Richard Pratt QC, Head of Chambers, 7 Harrington Street Liverpool

Without any reservation, I can recommend Jeremy as an extremely engaging and inspirational speaker.

As part of our Health and Wellbeing programme, which has a particular focus on Mental Health, and to celebrate International Men’s Day 2017, we commissioned Jeremy Thomas to deliver a webinar for us entitled ‘How to Stay Sane in an Insane world’. Jeremy had been highly recommended by employees who had heard him speak and he certainly lived up to all expectations. His webinar was frank, engaging, informative and truly inspirational. It was the most popular session we have ever had and appealed particularly to male employees who are statistically the least likely to admit they have issues or to seek help at an early stage.

Anna Bartlett – Manager, Health and Wellbeing, CGI

Jeremy was the main speaker at a mental health awareness event being run by our firm – there was standing room only and Jeremy did not disappoint – with a delightful mix of mischievous story-telling and large doses of humour, his technicolour-life unfolded before us to reveal some incredibly helpful lessons which we could all apply in our daily lives.

Chris Parsons, Chairman, India Practice, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP

We work closely with employers helping them manage workplace issues which more frequently involve recognising and dealing appropriately with employees suffering mental health issues. We are delighted to have worked with Jeremy and his candid and authentic personal story really touched a nerve with our contacts and clients at an event we hosted.

From a business perspective, poor mental health in the workplace can have a profound and often underestimated impact. Jeremy’s talk not only highlights the importance of good mental health awareness but also gives useful tools and guidance to ensure individuals and organisations are well equipped to deal with any issues they may face. He makes a very serious topic, light hearted and fun for those attending.
